This past week was a blast. We finished unpacking our stuff (still have to unpack my scrapbooking stuff but that's a project once Travis is on his clinicals!), Travis & I took a mid-week getaway to San Antonio! On Wednesday we drove up and did some shopping before checking in at Drury Plaza on the Riverwalk in our suite! We enjoyed our "adult beverages", went to the market close to the riverwalk, Rivercenter mall and enjoyed a good meal at Casa Rio! Yum! It was nice to get away and just be US! Not worried about school, or work, just US! :)
Thursday we went to Schlitterbahn! It was a blast as always, our feet hurt us more this time than before (I attribute it to us aging!) and once we had enough of the maddness with crowds we ventured to San Marcos to the outlet mall to shop around, we toured Travis' Alma Mater (Texas State University) and MAN has it expanded!! Saw his old dorms, his old apartment and ate at Gills Fried Chicken! Many many days I drove up to see him and we'd eat there :) good memories for sure! We stopped at the new (and largest) Buccees EVER! Huge! Crazy huge! We ventured back to Port Lavaca, and packed again!
Friday we headed to Victoria to meet up with my in-laws at their house and we went with them to Lake Conroe! We met up with Travis' Aunt Kay (she's the one who has the time-share) and visited with her and got all checked in! We had a water front "apartment" for the weekend! Our cousin Steven & his 2 daughters Kailey & Katelyn were there, their Mom Holli had to work :( Next time hopefully she can join us too!
We had so much fun, we played board games, fed ducks, played putt-putt, went swimming multiple times, went school supply shopping with them (and Travis & I have decided to start NOW on buying our kids supplies (just kidding...) I can't believe how many items these kiddos have to have for KINDER!) We ate Cracker Barrel and my father in law grilled some burgers! It was just an overall GREAT time! If you go to my facebook you'll see all the images! ALL 200+ of them! haha.
On our way home Sunday we stopped and did some shopping, got some new scrub pants for me and we went to Jo Anns! I got some material and scrapbooking stuff...can't wait to get started on my friend Jennifer's baby gift items! :D
So now we're back "home" at my parents house, which is technically our house too I guess, and unpacked getting ready for the week! LOTS to do this week to prepare for Travis starting his clinicals, and next weekend will be yet another weekend of driving 8+ hours pulling the RV to get Travis to his clinical lacation...over the last, well, since January...I should have logged my time in the car!!! Between trips from PL to Amarillo, and driving all over Texas for various things, good grief!
Anyways, till next time ;)

Officially South Texans Again!!
So, we survived the move! I came home a week early to start my new job, and then drove to Amarillo on Friday 8-3-12 with my Mom & Dad in-law to load up the Uhaul and get Travis! He finished all of his finals, and is officially DONE with book work in grad-school! We took my Mother & Father in law to a few local places in Amarillo while they were there. We ate at Coyote Bluff (As seen on Man vs Food!), ate some amazing dessert at Malcom's, and took them to Palo Duro Canyon (2nd largest in the US) and we saw the play "Texas"! They really enjoyed it, as did we!
We moved Travis into our apartment August 2010, I joined him January 2011! :)
All of us at lookout point at Palo Duro Canyon
My wonderful husband & I! :)
My mother in law the rock climber!
Play Texas!
So, living with my Mom & Dad will be interesting, it'll be a good thing because I won't be stuck in Amarillo away from my parents while Travis is away from me at the same time. I hated being 11 hrs from all our family and friends for the year and a half that we did it. Trust me, it was a good experience and I had an awesome job but family means way more to me than that! Hopefully this next year will go by quickly and we will be looking to buy our first house next year around this time! :)
In other news, my brother Billy had a head on collision near Sabine Pass on Sunday, him & his girlfriend. He broke his femur below where he had a rod already, so he had his surgery yesterday and is on the road to recovery. Thank God it wasn't worse than it was. I know my mom wishes she could be there with them, but with their health issues it's hard for her to up and go that far away.
My Dad is still recovering from his hernia surgery, so hopefully he begins to feel better soon himself!
Travis has a 2 week break before his clinicals start. So we are going to have some FUN! We are headed to 2 of our favorite places tomorrow! We're going to San Antonio to stay on the Riverwalk at Drury Plaza, probably our favorite hotel EVER. LOVE the riverwalk! And then we're going to New Braunfels to Schlitterbahn on Thursday! I'm so excited, looking forward to spending some FUN time with my husband before he leaves for 8 weeks :(
Our "zoo" is adapting well here at my parents! Pudge LOVES to swim, so we have a pool we set up for him, we throw Barkley in and he just gets out, digs in the dirt and gets muddy! The cats enjoy more room to roam as well! :) And gizmo, well, he, as my dad calls him "is just a rat"...he's a guinea pig!!! haha!
So that's the latest on this end of the world! Until next time...
